If you are required by law to charge your clients tax on services, then you can setup that information in the Admin Module -> Setup -> Settings ->Taxes Rates page. Once you are inside of that page, you have the ability to turn on/off which types of transactions you want to tax. Once you have those setup then you can setup different tax rates for your different locations.

  1. Navigate to the Admin Module -> Setup -> Getting Started -> Tax Rates page.
  2. Click New Tax Rate.
  3. Fill out the information for the new tax rate.
  4. Click Save.

To edit an existing tax rate:

  1. Navigate to the Admin Module -> Setup -> Getting Started -> Tax Rates page.
  2. Click on the tax rate you wish to edit.
  3. Make any needed changes to the tax rate information.
  4. Click Save.

Exempt Clients

All clients by default will be charged the appropriate tax based on their address location. If you are charging tax, you need to make sure you are entering the client's address when adding them internally. You do have the ability to go into each client and mark them 'exempt' by editing their information and un-checking the 'Taxable' box.
